The Spanish giants brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold with a long-term agreement

Trent Alexander-Arnold's rehabilitation is progressing smoothly, raising hope that the Real Madrid right-back might be fit in time to face his old team Liverpool in November's Champions League tie.

The English player sustained a muscle problem while playing against Ligue 1 club Marseille in the group stage of the competition on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch in the early stages, with initial reports pointing to a possible layoff of as long as a month and a half.

Real Madrid are set to face Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—exactly seven weeks after the injury occurred.

Reports familiar with the player's condition indicate that the defender's comeback is moving along well, and there is expectation that Alexander-Arnold might make his first appearance to Liverpool's stadium since signing for Los Blancos in the summer.

A devoted Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously said that departing from the club he joined as a six-year-old youth player was the "most difficult decision he has ever made."

During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold made over 350 games, contributing to win two English top-flight titles, a European Cup, and the domestic cup.

Since joining to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has appeared five times across all competitions, logging over two and a half hours of action.
