FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in domestic competition 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
