Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
An official for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions directed at young women.
The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
