Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete

The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.

The organization omitted the name of Rice specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.

Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles

Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.

On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
