British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”
The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
